Friend Spotlight: Because You Rock!!!!!!
I met Jill just a few months ago and we became fast friends in just that short period of time. I asked her to send me a short little bio on what movies she absolutely enjoys and are her favorites and she sent me the most awesome write up ever. What I dig about this lovely lady is her personality and her amazing collection which you should check out on her Instagram. Read all about this awesome lady below in her own words:
"So, being a horror junkie of the 70'S & 80'S slashers, and the biggest fan of Michael Myers and Freddy Krueger, my top 2 choices for horror movies I would recommend will be pretty predictable and simple. The original 1978 Halloween by John Carpenter, and the original 1984 Nightmare on Elm Street by Wes Craven. Both are early entries in the slasher sub genre. Both feature famous horror icons, of our generation. Nightmare was the first horror movie I was exposed to at 4 years old. I remember watching it with my mom, who got me into horror. It stayed with me all through my childhood.. and even now as an adult. It terrified me. I use to have nightmares about Freddy and be afraid to sleep lol ;) Needless to say Robert Englund portraying Freddy is chilling and the stuff nightmares are made of. Even watching it now, it has the same effect on me. The sequels are more comedic and fun.. but the original will always stay true as being the one that started the whole Freddy love for me.. and no one did Nightmare better then
Wes Craven. The score is amazing, the way Krueger runs HIS blades for fingers across things making your skin crawl.. His evil and menacing laugh. I'm pretty
sure most horror fans have seen this one but, if for some reason you havent, you need to.
As for my second choice, John Carpenters Halloween, This is the ultimate classic slasher movie. It has all the effective scares without being over the top, gory or cheesy. It came right before the 80's horror comedy craze. John Carpenter composed a score for this movie that still gives me chills to this day. Its iconic. You never have to even watch the movie, and immediately know its Halloween when you hear it. Jamie Lee Curtis portraying Laurie Strode is still my favorite scream queen leading lady. The camera angles in this movie, are genius.the wide shots, the glimpses of Myers, when the camera pans away, then back.. he's gone. The white mask he wears slowly coming out of the dark, til its visible. Everything about this movie is brilliant and effective. It still manages to creep me out, yet comfort me everytime I watch it. Its a must for horror/ slasher fans. Its especially good, come Halloween night, ;) I watch it every year. Beware the Boogeyman!"

Sarah is truly an amazing person. I met her in November and it's like I have always known her. Sarah is one of the coolest Canadians I have ever met. She always says what she means and means what she says. She is straight forward and has a wonderful personality. Her horror movie collection is amazing and she is a delight to tweet too or even email. If you were to look at her twitter feed or even instagram and took a look at her pictures you would see that she is a Freddy Krueger fan. She has the Freddy glove which she took a great picture in, check it out. She is certainly someone you will certainly see as funny, strong, and vibrant. So give her a follow on twitter, her picture is a clickable link and even on instagram http://instagram.com/sarah_mac_13
Pete is a ray of sunshine on a cloudy day. Okay so I mentioned a song lyric in there, but it's true. Such a wonderful and kind hearted person he is. I met him around the same time I met Jilly Bean above. We became fast friends. Whenever Pete goes on a hike or someplace awesome, he always posts pictures of nature and all of the hills and mountains that he climbs. He loves horror movies, but is always up for anything different. When we first met, it was during a live tweet and we just kept tweeting the same thing about a movie and it was pretty cool. Great minds, really do think alike. I wanted to add him to the Twitter spotlight because well, he's awesome and always knows just what to say, or type, in a not so great situation. His movie collection is huge and full of titles that I probably haven't seen yet. His picture is a clickable link to give him a follow on Twitter.
Awesome, creative, unique, tough, all around amazing are just a few of the words I would use to describe this wonderful person. Corrine, from the bottom of my heart, you rock, and if you all follow her you will be able to bask in the glow of her stunning personality. I have an enjoyable time watching movies with her and the crew. She has a talent for horror make up as well, you should check out her pictures. She also has a blog that I enjoy reading as well and you can find that here http://theredheadedview.blogspot.ca/. Her blog is heartfelt and filled with beautiful pictures of nature and other fun things. I met her through Sarah Mac while watching a "Friday the 13th" marathon, and we hit it off right away. The picture is clickable and will take you straight to her Twitter page.
Its the fabulous Bonnie Smith everybody and she has the biggest heart that I have ever had the pleasure to find on Twitter. She and I became fast friends and she is like a friend I had in DC and that's why we had hit it off so well. She loves horror movies and other genres as well. She also has an awesome way of finding the pictures that would make you smile and brighten your day. I really enjoy talking cinema with her and hearing what she has to say about new movies and classics. I just wanted to carve out a little space on my site for my buddy. Click on the wonderful Bonnie.
The rock and rollers, the movers and shakers, the GOREgeous ladies that make up The Horror Honeys. I really wanted to make sure that I shine the spotlight on them because they are just fabulous and they know their stuff. Their website http://www.thehorrorhoneys.com/ has any and everything a horror fanatic could possible ever crave of the genre. I am blessed to get a chance to tweet with them online and hopefully one day to meet them face to face. These ladies are the shiznit and that's the whole truth and nothing but. Below I have their individual pages. Just click on the pictures and it will take you directly to their individual sites.
If Rob Zombie were to have a biopic made about his life, this guy could definitely play the rager himself. Ladies and gents, meet the Mayhem Zombie. I really enjoy all of his pics and the various skull rings that he always shares on his instagram as well as twitter. You have to check this dude out. He took a picture of when he had his hair all cut off, but to be quite honest, I prefer the hair to stay in tact, because it's who he is and there is nothing wrong with it at all. Rage on Jon, rage on!!!! Check him out and follow him by clicking on his pic and seeing exactly what I am talking about. @Mayhem1974
Meli Mel, what can I say about such a wonderful person besides you have to follow her immediately. Her tweets and pics always keeps me smiling and I am blessed to know her. It's oh so true that when you meet people on twitter you could seriously end up finding your next best buddy. When you look at her pictures you can see that she is a person who loves life and not letting things get her down. Go forth and follow @ScreamPrincess
