"Banned Movies: A Hurt or A Help?"
By: Joan Hughes
All over the internet there are movie trailers, posters, sites, and even sounds. Every weekend movies open in theaters and the masses flock to see the latest. What about those movies that never really see the light of day? What about the movies with the word “banned” right after the title. I thought about this while on a break from new-hire orientation for my job and I checked out what I could add to my website. I was searching the net for new DVD releases and movies coming to theaters. I ran across the new Elijah Wood movie “Maniac” which is banned in New Zealand. According to the Sydney Associated Press, “Maniac” was too graphic and disturbing for the public. It is shot from the killer’s point of view and is a remake of the 1980 slasher film of the same name (Gelineau, 2013). I remember the movie, “Peeping Tom and that was also shot from the killers point of view as well as “Halloween”, one of my personal favorites and the most awesome flick ever, in my most humble opinion. having so much
There are so many movies out there with the “Banned” sticker on it. It makes me wonder why some people tend to say that a horror movie or even a darkly themed indie brings on the downfall of society. Look at the darkness in the news that shows people embracing the shadow that lives deep inside. Yes I had a Jungian moment. Society is already broken people and movies are not directly responsible. Putting a ban on certain movies just makes the movie even more popular. It’s the big wigs and the ones with the biggest mouths screaming INAPPROPRIATE!! This is what helps some movies turn into cult classics. It’s never going to end. There are some movies, that push the envelope a bit too far and then this is when directors get arrested. Movies like, “Cannibal Holocaust”, the director Ruggero Deodato was arrested for murder because of the violence. It was a pretty brutal movie and I honestly couldn’t watch it all the way through, I was curious though because of all the hype and controversy surrounding it. Directors and screen writers should not be censored because of the way they write and what they choose to write about. Today people are looking for the surprise factor in movies and they look for movies that have a story following it. Movies like, “Reservoir Dogs”, “The Last Temptation of Christ”, “Human Centipede 1 & 2”, “Grotesque”, “The Exorcist”, and countless others.
I say, make up your own mind, if a movie has some sort of controversy attached to it, let your curious nature take over and go for it. If you someone who prefers your movie to hover on the G, PG, PG-13, R and not in the UR or NC-17 rating then just stick with what you know. Me personally, I am always going to be curious.

How amazeballs is it that Batman is going to be Ben Affleck!! I think it's something to be excited about. Many people are seriously upset about this decision, but why? I mean why not Affleck? Why not the guy who did an awesome job in "Argo" and many other movies. I don't understand why people are hating on Affleck and not giving him a chance to show that he definitely have the acting chops and the cool suavitude (suave attitude for those who need a bit of guidance) to play Bruce Wayne/Batman. The arguments are that he will destroy the character or he is not strong enough an actor to take this on. Again, I say, why, why are people so butt hurt about Affleck being the new Batman. I am listening to a Kevin Smith and Ralph Garman Podcast and well even though they may vary in opinion, Smith is all for Affleck being Batman where Garman is more anti Affleck and very vocal about it I might add. Honestly, I mean, honestly, I was shocked that Affleck was cast as the Batman. I went through the same metamorphosis of emotions that many of you all did and in the end, after I slept on it and had some time to really take a good look at this, I am really excited about Ben taking on this role. He is going to make Batman his own character, just like Heath Ledger did for the Joker. Ledger added that something special and I feel like Affleck is going to rock this role. I asked a co-worker why he loathed the idea of Affleck being the new Batman and he just said, "Just because he sucks". Hmmm, "Just because he sucks"? No other answer or reason? I mean there really isn't any concrete reason why he can't sink his teeth into this role. People actually doubted Michael Keaton as Batman and look at how much they remember this role. So I must leave you with this, give Affleck the chance, because no matter how much you hate on him, he's still The Batman.

I was looking up some updates that I wanted to add to my site and I came across this amazing update to "American Horror Story". This time it's in New Orleans and from looking at the trailer on Twitter it's going to seriously bring in the Halloween season. "American Horror Story: Coven" starts October 9th on FX. What deliciously dark delights does AHS have in store for us this time. Season 1 invited us into a very haunted house, season 2 checked us into a mental institution that we are still recovering from, and now we have Taissa Farmiga (little sister of Vera Farmiga), Sarah Paulson, Francis Conroy, Lily Rabe, Jessica Lange, Angela Bassett, Gabourey Sidibe, Patti Lupone, and Kathy Bates to bring the creepy. This show is so atmospheric and you can literally feel the air in the room become heavier as the writers take you down the horrific rabbit hole. The casts for all seasons of this show have been getting better and better. As a viewer I can't wait to see what comes next. Ladies and gentlemen welcome to the coven.

When we last saw the Winchesters, Sam was going through all of the trials and the last trial was with Crowley. Sam had just about completed the final task of curing the King of Hell from his wicked ways when
Dean stopped him from pushing forward. However, when Crowley started talking about being loved we knew that Crowley was starting to change and picking up the show from there is going to be interesting. We don't know how Crowley is really going to be after the almost completed task number 3. Let's come clean and be honest, we all have a love/hate relationship with Crowley, it's cool, I won't tell. I mean of course he is a bad boy, but he does make you chuckle every once in a while. On another story line, Castiel's angelic essence was stolen by the
angel Metatron which made him mortal and after that happened, this is when all of the angels started falling to earth. It's been a long time since Cas has been a mortal. When Metatron was first introduced, I thought he was one of the good guys, until he turned and fooled me. Before I get way too deep into that story and ruin it for others who have not seen it, let's just get down to the business at hand. The upcoming season of Supernatural begins on Oct. 8th at 9/8c. What a glorious way to start October, "Supernatural" on the 8th and "American Horror Story" on the 9th. My head just exploded with excitement. I watched all of the first seven seasons of the Winchesters on Netflix and fell in love with the plot twists, the characters, and the heart that the brothers have for every quest they are on. Not to mention Felicia Day showing up every now and again with her awesome self. She's making an appearance in season 9 as well. Goodness this is going to be some bad ass television. I love this show and looking forward to chatting it up with @Sarah_Mac_ and my other buddies on Twitter. Lastly, head on over to my trailer page on this site and go to http://www.cwtv.com/shows/supernatural/ to check out the season finale of season 8. You can also follow CW's "Supernatural" on twitter https://twitter.com/cw_spn. Stay tuned.

"Standards of Living"
By: Joan Hughes

IPads have so many uses in our daily lives. From playing candy crush to angry birds, IPads have many ways to keep a mind occupied. What would happen if someone came along and decided to make a movie by only using the IPad as the camera. No tripod or anything holding it up, but just someone with passion to create a movie as unique as "Standards of Living". That is just what the writer and director Aaron Mento has done. The opening of the movie has the viewer already caring for Peter, who is a comedian trying to perfect the art of making others laugh. I don't want to give too much away, however, I will say that Scott Yarborough who plays Peter does a phenomenal job. I was also taken by Bill Ferris and his performance as Mr. Randall. There are so many eye-popping moments, and some moments that make you think. In short, it's not just a movie with gore and sinister characters, it's a movie with depth as well. I will also say that the imagery of Mr. Randall's wife and her clothes was genius. Mr. Randall's wife had a white blouse on when she had faith and then in another frame she had black on when her faith was gone. This is a smart and well made movie and deserves to receive all kinds of praise and support. Anyone can shoot a video on an IPad, but how about a movie? Check out the trailer in the screening room. His screenplay "Survival High" is an official selection at the PollyGrind Festival in Vegas. There is a link to the festival where you can find all of the information available on the information page.

"American Mary"

The Soska Sisters have truly out down themselves with "American Mary". I don't even think that my fingers can keep up with what I want to express about this movie. I will say that it is a movie not for everyone. Especially those who are not able to keep their popcorn down. I love the way the Soska Sisters wrote Katherine Isabelle's character "Mary". Who of us have never been in a less than stellar financial situation that would have us think about how we are going to pay the rent or other bills. We may not do what Mary did, hmm, or would we? Anyway, the main character "Mary" was written in such a way that the viewer cared and when she started down a path that was a bit darker we all shuddered because we didn't want anything bad to happen to her. Mary was just a hard working medical school student who was down on her luck and needed cash. "American Mary" takes the art of body modification to a whole new level. I don't even need to say how genius Katherine Isabelle is in this.
When I told my friend about this movie and used the term "art" to describe body modification, she looked at me as though we had never met. "How could body modification be art"? She asked me this question and to this I replied that when it comes to this movie, the writers wanted to show how the body can be sculpted to be something completely different. We didn't really agree on this, but oh well, I still will be watching this again and again. Since it's on Netflix for streaming now, I will check this out numerous times. It's sexy, haunting, and deliciously gory. Do yourself a favor and please see this movie.
5 on the Movie Maven Scale for sure.

Word floating around on the internet is that Michael Bay has a new Transformers coming out in June 2014. This one is called "Transformers 4: Age of Extinction" and stars Mark Wahlberg in the leading role. Dinobots will also make it onto the big screen. I'm curious as to how Michael Bay is going to portray the Dinobots in this one. I wasn't into Dinobots back in the day as much as I was the Autobots and Decepticons. Of course the Transformer movies are geared not only to the grown-ups who really get excited about the nostalgia of it all, but also and more importantly, the children who are just getting to know these awesome pieces of machinery. My hubby Larry said that as long as Optimus Prime and Bumblebee is in it then he is all good and I agree. It takes me back when I hear the original voice of Optimus Prime booming out of the speakers, good times. My only concern is that I really want the language to be just a bit lighter this time around, otherwise you have many faces wincing because of certain words. Overall, the Transformers franchise has so much to offer the youngsters and I would really love to take a group of my students to see this movie over the summer. More news to come.

I don't even have to tell you how excited I am for this amazing edition of "American Horror Story". I just about leaped from my skin when I saw the trailer "Initiation". This may be the best Horror Story that has graced the television screen. Think about it people, just wrap your mind around the three actresses to your left in this write up. Look how regal and amazing they all look. Angela Bassett, Jessica Lange, and Kathy Bates all have faces that would make you think twice before crossing them. This is something to behold, something that is going to be an epic. Even the song by Lauren O'Connell (http://laurenoconnell.com/) "House of the Rising Sun" is bewitching, beautiful and speaks to all senses. I can honestly see how this song was chosen as the trailer music, it's because it fits. If you think I am talking about this too much, well I guess you are in for a ride, because it's going to be chatted about and chatted about over and over again. As soon as the "Initiation" trailer landed into the laps of This groundbreaking season begins Oct. 9th. Thank you Brad Falchuk and Ryan Murphy for creating this masterpiece. School is in, are you ready?

"Star Wars: A Fresh Perspective"
By: Joan Hughes

A new Star Wars is looming in the distance and the internet is swarming with rumors and whispers about what may happen with this story. It’s really interesting how one movie set in space can have an amazing following as “Star Wars” has. When I first heard about a new “Star Wars” movies was a bit skeptical, okay, I was completely floored about the idea and plus Disney was also given the rights to “Star Wars” which gave me the biggest headache ever.
However, when the dust settled and some time has passed I found some information that made this whole "Star Wars" story come to life. J.J. Abrams is going to put is amazing spin on this legendary tale. With all of the bloggers, tweeters, instagramers, and net gurus out there, Abrams has made every attempt to keep all secrets and teasers about the new, "Star Wars" movie by saying to all involved that, "all the work we're doing is about making this a special experience for the viewer; let's preserve that as long as we can". You can read more about this on http://insidetv.ew.com/2013/01/06/jj-abrams-secrecy/. I look at Abrams as a modern day Spielberg based on his work and how well he does with the "Star Trek" movies and many others. On another note, Abrams wants to bring back Hamill, Fisher, and Ford in their original roles as well, Joss Whedon doesn't particularly like the idea because if he were to direct the movie he would want to see the characters move forward and not looking back. I'm sensing a little haterade. It should make for an exciting movie to see Han Solo, Princess Leia, and Luke Skywalker all together again. Isn't that what life is all about, surprises? Anyway, I am looking forward to this movie and all of the imagination that is in store.

"Spirit Halloween: Bringing the Scare to Halloween"
By: Joan Hughes
9/28/13
The pic to the left is of the most magical place on earth, and it's not Disney. Every year around Halloween time, a store opens and it's filled with ghosts, ghouls, zombies, witches, severed heads, glow in the dark make up, movie make up kits, and so much more. Today I visited the Spirit Halloween store in Mobile, AL. When you first walk in you see a large pumpkin head display and that begins your journey into the heart of the madness and macabre. It is completely stocked to the brim with something for everyone. I was super excited to finally get a chance to come in an have a look at what makes Spirit Halloween awesome. I got exactly what I expected and then some. I even met a very nice employee there named Hannah and I asked her what was the most popular items this year at this particular Spirit store, she told me that "the morphing suits were the favorites of the children and were very popular, and the theme this year was asylum". Thanks Hannah for taking the time out to fill me in. I also met Tricia Allen from the Mobile Theatre Guild who told me about "The Rocky Horror Picture Show" being performed on Oct. 25, 26, & 31st and Nov. 1 and 2. There is more information here http://mobiletheatreguild.org/shows.html. You never know who you are going to meet.
Some of the items that really caught my attention were the "Ted" costumes which should be a fun addition to any Halloween get together. I also noticed that the floor displays were so elaborate and even took me by surprise. A snake jumped out of the shadows, a crypt keeper looking creature was holding a child with light up eyes in a rocking chair, and the best part of it all were the psychotic clowns terrorizing the customers while shaking in their electric chairs in a cage that lit up. I have to say that the theme of asylum at the Spirit Halloween store was completely right on. "The Walking Dead" had a wall of wonderful merchandise that even included Daryl Dixon's ear necklace. So if you have time and even if you don't, you should make time and go to your nearest Spirit Halloween store and check out what they have and pick up a little something to make your Halloween a spooktacular success. You can find Spirit Halloween on the web at http://www.spirithalloween.com/.

Never in my wildest dreams or expectations have I ever been knocked square on my ass by a show before. I'm choosing to leave out all of the spoilers, because some people don't have or can't get FX where they live and have to see it later. I noticed on another review for, "American Horror Story: Coven", there was a play by play. While I can also write a play by play on the mother of all season premiers, I will go from pure emotions. Brad Falchuk and Ryan Murphy have blended both horror and history together into a beautiful and shocking painting, and all with a pen along with imagination and drive to make a television show will keep viewers coming back for more.
Now, perhaps I am a bit partial because I adore all things witchy and spooky. "The Craft", "Witches of Eastwick", and "Hocus Pocus" just happen to be a few of my favorites and they all portray witches in different ways. This could be another reason why movies and shows that are witch based are something that I gravitate towards because you never know what you are going to see. The witches in "American Horror Story: Coven" will take you over the edge of a cliff and make sure your eyes are open as you fall. These witches are cut from a different cloth and cloaked in mystery.
What will make this season of "American Horror Story" so amazing will be that every scene is eye-popping, hypnotic and arresting. My mouth was wide open during the first half when we meet Kathy Bates (Madame Lalaurie), Taissa Farmiga (Zoe), Jessica Lange (Fiona), Angela Bassett (Marie Laveau), Gabourey Sidibe (Queenie), Emma Roberts (Madison), and Jamie Brewer (Nan). All of these ladies brought each character to life and certain that we remember their names. After all, the script can be brilliant, however, if the talent doesn't breathe life into it then it's just a dead cell. The question I have for the writers is this, where to next? Falchuk and Murphy have taken us to a haunted house, an asylum, and now down on the bayou. The masterminds behind "American Horror Story" are truly bringing uniquely crafted plot twists, story lines, and shocking moments every time. This season we have a coven of witches who, in a blink of an eye, will have our jaws unhinged waiting with baited breath about what will happen next.

"Army of Darkness2"
10/26/13
I heard it through the grapevine and from http://bloody-disgusting.com/ that Sam Raimi has signed on to work on this sequel which will undoubtedly be something amazing, because Raimi knows how to make weird look wonderful. "Army of Darkness" was campy, funny, and gory. It was also fun to see groovy Bruce Campbell play the duel roles the way he did. Campbell and Raimi never disappoints. What sweetens this pot even further is that Bruce is also signing on to work on this project as well. As the news starts to filter in I will surely keep you updated. I wonder what Raimi is going to bring us this time? I do hope he keeps the campiness and the same kind of characters, or even some enhanced characters will be used. The make up is what I long for in a Raimi flick, because he knows exactly what he is looking for in a creature. I'm actually geeked up about this and excited. Just look what the Raimi/Campbell connection did for the revamp of "The Evil Dead". "The Evil Dead" wasn't a remake, it was more of a re-imagining of the entire story with elements of the original blended in. So with Raimi and Campbell, the dynamic duo, will they keep things the same, or will they change it up a bit. Either way I'm stoked.

"Horror is not dead"
11/15/13
A little chat with a co-worker friend of mine fueled my fire to write this for all of you. I felt like I wanted to seriously throw a wicked throat punch her way. This person, who like Voldemort, is a name I won't speak of. Let's just say that this is a person who clearly stated that the Horror genre is dead. It was a long conversation and while I feel like people should have their own opinion, this person got a little defensive. Her argument was that the horror genre is getting too comical and over done. She then went on to say that many of the movies she has seen made absolutely no sense whatsoever. Now, my dear readers, I am a patient person so I sat there and listened as she ranted on and on. Before she almost reached the apex of my nerve peak I had to finally stop her and say that though there may be some horror movies out there that can be on the not too good side, the horror genre is all but dead. In fact the horror genre is moving, it is evolving into something that is more that just slashers and bodies being split down the middle (which can be pretty cool if done right). Horror is heading into the paranormal, something lurking in the dark kind of movies that have people jumping out of their seats with fear. These are the movies that remind me of classic horror or the black and white films, like "The Innocents" or on a more modern take, "The Changeling", a haunted house movie that had some intense creep out moments. I went on to say that a movie genre cannot truly be declared dead, it just goes through a period of ebb and flow. By the end of the conversation we were both exhausted and she wanted to try watching a few of the movies I had recommended and I would watch some of the movies she had liked too. I love it when a conversation comes together in the end. Different views make the world go round.

"Bonnie & Clyde"
11/29/13
A week ago I found myself on Turner Classic Movies watching the ever so classic "Bonnie & Clyde" with Faye Dunaway and Warren Beatty. This movie was gritty, raw and filled with action so intense I was literally on the edge of my seat waiting to see what would happen next. There have been many artists who have tried to recreate the story of Bonnie Parker and Clyde Barrow and many have been unsuccessful. There has even been songs about Bonnie & Clyde which even though has been a valiant effort has been quietly brushed aside as just an attempt. Now we have something coming to A&E, Lifetime, and The History Channel that has me extremely excited. This is a joint mini-series which will air on Sunday, Dec. 8th and Monday, Dec. 9th on A&E, Lifetime and The History Channel at 9pm. Bonnie is played by Holliday Grainger and Clyde will be portrayed by Emile Hirsch. What makes this mini-series so special is that it is a modern take on a classic. The wardrobe, the pictures, the make up, the mood, and how the trailer looks really heightens the senses and will have the viewer wanting it never to end. My advice is to watch the Dunaway and Beatty movie first, especially if you haven't seen it, and then you will have all you need to watch this show which will be sure to please.

"Flowers in the Attic"
11/29/13
The story that we have grown to enjoy from the author that we have equally loved has been resurrected into a remake. V.C. Andrews classic creepy tale "Flowers in the Attic" has found a new home on Lifetime. The very
first time I saw the 1987 movie, Louise Fletcher as the grandmother left me in a grip of fear and now that Ellen Burstyn is taking over as grandma, it will be equally as terrifying. Just take a look at the trailer and you can literally
feel the cold chill creep up and down your spine as Burstyn addresses her daughter played by Heather Graham. My mother introduced me to the writings of V.C. Andrews and I never looked back. I read everything more than twice. Louise Fletcher, who is also known as Nurse Ratchet in "One Flew Over the Cuckoo’s Nest" knew how to play the characters that you really wouldn’t want to cross or meet in a darkened alley. Ellen Burstyn is the perfect choice, the only choice for this role and so was Heather Graham for the daughter. It was probably easier
to figure out who was going to play the children than the pivotal roles of Burstyn and Graham. Those are the only two characters in this story that I vividly remember.
"Flowers in the Attic" was so shocking as well. The parts where the caretaker was digging graves and as the viewer you saw the number of graves that there
were and how they equaled the number of children made me realize that this wasn’t just another drama, this was going to be something on a disturbing level
that would in turn be unrelenting. The trailer itself and the tears coming from Graham’s eyes and the terror that emanates through the screen intrigues me as I
look forward to Sunday, Jan. 18th at 8pm on Lifetime to find out more.

"Mob City"
12/6/13
I left my notes at work yesterday which completely messed with me all day because I wanted to post this the day after the premier. So without further adieu here it is. The December 4th premier of Frank Darabont’s “Mob City” brought us another reason to keep our eyes glued to the screen. The gritty streets of Los Angeles in the 1940s is painted quite nicely by the imagination of Darabont who has brought us other gems like “The Walking Dead” and “The Shawshank Redemption”. A great great script and wonderful actors definitely makes for a successful show all the time and “Mob City” definitely has the IT factor.
I really enjoyed the slow roll of the sax music as it danced with the ribbons of smoke wafting through the air as if it too was written in as a character as well. The settings of every scene had the Noir feel to it which draws the viewers into the story even more. Even the parts where there were lights on at a club there was still a hazy feeling like there was a filter on the camera which has the viewer feeling like they are part of the experience as well. It is a genius way to be creative with such a powerful story. Being a fan of film Noir gangster movies I really appreciated all of Darabont has done with “Mob City”
Film Noir has always meant something both romantic and dangerous and yet so alluring to me. One becomes almost hypnotized by what they are seeing, The words that fall off the lips of the actors and the way they brought life to their characters is mesmerizing. In the first two episodes, “A Guy Walks Into a Bar” and “Reason to Kill a Man” we are met once again by Jon Bernthal (The Walking Dead and The Wolf of Wall Street) who gives a riveting performance as detective Joe Teague. We also see Simon Pegg (Star Trek and Paul) who does a phenomenal job as Hecky Nash, a comedian who feels as though trying to outwit the mob would work out in his favor. It’s amazing that yet again Jeffrey Demunn (The Walking Dead) and Jon Bernthal are together again and Demunn is trying to be the voice of reason to Bernthal’s character.
There were so many great performances on premier night which included Milo Ventimiglia, Edward Burns, and Jeremy Luke. There will also be many other actors and actresses coming soon every Wednesday night at 8:00 as well. It’s such a refreshing change to TV. It’s very daring to have the Noir genre on TV, it’s something we haven’t seen in a very long time. So ladies, break out the red matte lipstick and gents, straighten your ties and prepare to be transported to the 40′s in LA where anything can happen. Welcome to “Mob City”.

"Dawn of the Planet of the Apes" (Coming July 11, 2014)
12/26/2013
Cast: Gary Oldman, Keri Russell, Andy Serkis, Kodi Smit-Mcphee, Jason Clarke, Toby Kebbell, Enrique Murciano, Kirk Acevedo, and Judy Greer
When we last left Ceasar and his very impressive army they were enjoying the woods and finally feeling a sense of freedom. "Rise of the Planet of the Apes" was an emotional ride that brings the viewer to the very apex of tears, even if they don't fall, every single time. Also, the Alzheimer's Drug "ALZ-113" which was also introduced in "Rise" had short term positive effects for humans, however, it enhanced the primates cognitive abilities and beyond. This brings us to "Dawn of the Planet of the Apes" which, from the trailer, looks to be a movie that will be just as powerful as "Rise" was. Check out the trailer in the screening room and then head on over to the website for more http://www.dawnofapes.com/ .

"The Talented Tarantino"
01/13/2014
It’s time to get giddy over Tarantino again. My giddiness for Tarantino, has never left my heart at all. After the excitement of “Django Unchained” slowly starts to settle, Tarantino has something else in the pipeline. Christoph Waltz is already on the docket for a role in Tarantino’s western, “The Hateful Eight”. According to Variety.com, when Tarantino was on the Jay Leno show, he expressed how much fun it was to work on “Django Unchained” which is why he wanted to create another western. Needless to say that when Tarantino does something, he goes all out and I can’t wait to see a trailer to his latest creation. He wants to start filming in the summer. The caliber of actors who round up "The Hateful Eight" will be astounding and I truly hope that Michael Madsen is one of them (just saying). More information can be found on the clickable link in the image.

"Well, Hello There Mr. Grey"
1/25/14
One thing I can tell you is that I am truly excited for the theater to get heated up again. Jamie Dornan is Mr. Grey and Dakota Johnson as Anastasia Steele. I am thrilled that they went with to new names to play these rolls and not with the usual. Names bounced around the internet for months as to who would play the elusive Christian Grey and this is a great choice. Jamie Dornan has a brooding and sexy look about him that oozes Mr. Grey. The books were and still are sensuous and something that will also be hiding in the nightstand. The website has also launched as well and you can sign up to be employed as Mr. Grey's assistant, it's something fun to gain viewers and new readers and yes, yours truly filled out an application and now I just need my references to come through. Check out the website http://www.fiftyshadesmovie.com/ .

"The Man With the Warm Smile"
2/24/14
Today we lost one of the warmest smiles I have ever seen to come across my screen. Harold Ramis passed away today at 1:00 am in Chicago, IL. I have never met him and only know of his work through, well, watching it and experiencing his genius. If I were to have met Mr. Ramis, I would have probably been speechless and very happy to have finally met the man behind Egon Spengler, "Groundhog Day", "Stripes", "Caddyshack", his role as Dr. Bettis in "As Good As it Gets" and a string of other amazing movies and characters that he played. There aren't many actors out there that tug at the heart strings on screen and off as well and when you find them, it's always a wonderful thing. May you cross the streams into paradise Mr. Ramis and find peace.
